“W3K” Kingman Island and “W3H” Heritage Island Ham Radio Expedition” Saturday August 29th

Join us Saturday, August 29 as HacDC Amateur Radio Club  activates Heritage and Kingman Islands during the US ISLAND QSO PARTY.  We have been issued special 1 x 1 call signs.  We are setting up and operating two amateur radio stations for this event.  W3H will be our call sign for Heritage Island and W3K will be our call sign for Kingman Island.  Set up begins at 6:30 am.  We will be on the air from 8 am to 6 pm local time.  Kingman Island and Heritage Island Park is located in the Anacostia River, near Benning Road NE and Oklahoma Ave NE.  Visit Google Maps Heritage & Kingman Islands and www.kingmanisland.org  Information about the US Islands, the US ISLAND QSO Party  and a calendar with planned operations can be found at: http://www.usislands.org .If you would like to participate, please contact us at w3hac.hacdc@gmail.com or contact us by telephone at (336) 73.W3HAC (or show up).  Use K3VOA Repeater 147.045 (+600 PL77) as the talk in frequency.

The object of this event is to promote the U.S. (USI) and Canadian (CIA) islands programs to amateur radio operators, friends and family worldwide and  to promote verifiable amateur radio contacts with stations located on islands in the U.S. and Canada.
